Mission Acres Association Guidelines for Renters

Welcome to Mission Acres. This beautiful area of woodland and lakeshore has been the summer home of it's residents for over 50 years. You will find Mission Acres people to be friendly and good neighbors but we also treasure our privacy. The following guidelines are intended to help you enjoy your stay with us to the fullest while preserving the beauty and serenity that we all cherish.

1. Please drive carefully on our private road, Whispering Trail. Keep in mind that folks on foot and bicycles use Whispering Trail as well as cars and an occasional truck.  Be prepared to meet any of these as you travel to and from your cottage.

2. Please remember we have no city fire protection. Our woods and buildings can be tinder dry in the summer time. No fires are permitted in the wooded areas. If you plan to have a beach fire, remember that your neighbors never leave a fire unattended and cover it with sand or douse with water until the fire is dead out before leaving.  In addition, please exercise caution when removing ashes from a fireplace. Ashes that have been in a container for 3 or 4 days may still contain hot coals. Always place ashes in a metal container.

3. No fireworks, please.

4. Motor vehicles are not allowed on the beach.

5. Jet skis are noisy and an irritation to many of us here in Mission Acres. Please do not operate them along our waterfront.

6. Keep family pets leashed or under direct control. This is particularly important on our beach.

7. Respect your neighbor's right to privacy by not trespassing on the property of others without their knowledge and permission. Also, avoid activities that create a loud and disturbing noise such as loud music or boisterous late-night beach parties.

8. Every cottage in Mission Acres has it's own waste disposal (septic) system. These systems are far more sensitive and therefore, more liable to backup or operate inefficiently that city sewer systems. Do not flush disposable diapers, sanitary napkins, or tampons. Check with your cottage owner for keeping the septic system in good working order.
